30th of May 2017 | 13:00 - 20:00h | Tech Gate Vienna
Today, digitalization encompasses all our areas of life, which through its extensive and complex networking has become the essential basis for our economy, working world, quality of life, and ultimately our society. The availability and reliability of our information and communication technology platforms are therefore becoming more important than ever before: internet of things (IoT), industry 4.0, industrial control systems (ICS), cyber physical systems (CPS), identity management, virtual
currencies (blockchain), smart grids as well as traffic and environmental data management are well-known examples in this innovation context.
ICT systems have become THE critical infrastructure par excellence, with dramatic impact on business location and society when they are not available. At the same time, the resulting global communication networks have enormous potential for new IT innovations that enable us to take a decisive step closer to the solution of many major social challenges, such as crisis and disaster management.
Austria has a leading international r&d competence in this area at the business location Vienna. In order to bring innovations from the Austrian security research and services of the Austrian industry to the forefront, the technology exhibition "Seeing and Understanding" was launched in early 2015.
Under the motto "Seeing and Understanding - Cyber Security", the third edition of this annual technology exhibition and panel discussion takes place on 30th of May 2017, organized by the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology at the Science and Technology Park Tech Gate Vienna. An exhibition of state-of-the-art safety technologies, developed by Austrian research companies for global companies in the framework of national and international research programs, awaits you: Cybersecurity solutions for industrial control systems, state-of-the-art encryption for our data and virtual IT systems (cloud), latest tools for modern data management (big data and blockchain technologies), command & control systems for use in modern crises and disaster management, as well as solutions for the protection of objects in critical infrastructures and for digital identity management through state-of-the-art biometrics sensors.
